The Concert For Rhys
The Liverpool Unites concert for Rhys was all the idea of Mels Friends Sarah and Kate from work, they wanted to do something to raise money for the campaign to help build a new sports facility in croxteth park, with the help of Lyn Staugton they produced an amazing show with lots of stars from Liverpool making an appearance, including Eaton Road, Mel C, Natasha Hamilton, Stan Boardman, Jimmy Tarbuck, Barbara Dickenson, Tony Christie, "Sinbad from Corrie", Jimmy and Jackie Corkhill from Brookie and Mimi from Shameless, Bradley Taylor also played their song dedicated to Rhys called "Angel Child", also local dance groups and Croxteth Choir took part - it must have taken a lot of time and effort to organise - and it was well worth it because it was a fantastic night and everyone enjoyed it. Over 9,000 people went to the concert and over £50,000 was made for the Liverpool Unites Fund. The new Liverpool Echo Area holds 10,000 people, and Rhys' concert was the biggest seller since it opened.   A great big "THANKYOU" to Sarah for making it happen, and to everyone who went for making it such a special night.
